Uyime Donatus (PhD, CEng, MIMMM)

Resource Leader – Academic Writing

Dr Uyime Donatus is a Chartered Engineer and a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He graduated with a first, topping his class on graduation from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 2007. Uyime received his PhD in Metallic Materials from the University of Manchester, UK in 2015 under the supervision of Prof G. E. Thompson. He has vast experience as a Researcher and Lecturer and currently works as a Research Fellow at Brunel University London. His research focus is on corrosion and protection and thermomechanical processing of metallic alloys. He has authored and co-authored over 36 technical papers and a book chapter in reputable journals. He is a beneficiary of many awards including the Jim Kape Memorial Medal Award by the Institute of Materials Finishing, UK.

Peer-mentorship is one of the core strategies of Mobodunrin Dream Building Initiative (MDBI). Bearing in mind the obvious challenges that we confront in our society, this program is designed to accelerate the development of individuals that are interested in pursuing a career in the academia.

Our peer-mentorship strategy operates on a convenient model that enables one to develop remotely yet have partners in other parts of the world. We ensure that the experience of all our mentees count and their unique personality reflects in what they do. You can enrol in our peer-mentorship program for FREE. Our program focuses on activities that strengthen our mentees’ CRITICAL THINKING and ADAPTATION STRATEGIES. In the end, our mentees are able to identify problems, envisage opportunities, create useful knowledge and communicate effectively.

Our resource persons are vital to the goals we seek to achieve. While our resource persons are dispersed across the globe, Dr U. Donatus and Dr A. Awosusi are experienced partners coordinating the entire strategic framework of our mentorship program.

MDBI mentees are required to publish either an evidence-based opinion article, popular science article, or research article within 12-24 months of registration. We use this as a criterion to assess the development of our mentees. Our mentees work in groups to meet this criterion because strong collaboration is a culture we seek to strengthen in our society.

Our mentees will be able to request for letter of support for any application they are submitting once they have met our eligibility criteria.

Ayotunde Awosusi, PhD.

Resource Leader – Science Communication

Ayo Awosusi is a Warwick-trained bioscientist with an interest in renewable energy development for biobased economy as a catalyst for sustainable Africa development. His research explores AI-based optimization of bioprocesses as a strategy for improving the techno-feasibility of bioenergy/ biocommodities production, integration and utilization. A big fan of superior, data-based arguments, innovative and progressive school of thoughts, ethical practices, science communication; all condensed for efficient resource utilization vis a vis management for social good. He received his PhD in Biochemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa in 2018 and a Diploma in science communication from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2019. Currently, Ayo is a post-doctoral researcher with the Institute for the Development of Energy for African sustainability and has contributed to 10 research publications and presented at 6 international research conferences across Europe and Asia.
